Minimum qualifications include IFSAC FF2 Certification; IS700, 800, 100, 200, 300; Current CPR/First Aid (EMR preferred); Auto Extrication; Pump Ops 1 and 2; Incident Safety Officer; Aerial Operations. Applicants who are missing no more than two of the required classes may submit an application. Application will be scored lower and, if hired, applicant will be required to obtain the missing class or certification within one year of employment. In addition to the above, applicant must have a clean driving record and be able to clear a background check and medical screening. Applicants must be able to safely meet the minimum job performance requirements for structural firefighters as identified in NFPA 1001.
Starting rate for position of Engineer (full-time) will be $15.30/hour or $44,676 per year, base wages. Hours worked over 106 per two-week pay period will be paid at 1.5 x base ($22.95) in accordance with FLSA. 29 CFR 553.230.
Holiday Differential -
Employees on shift will receive 2x hourly rate for the hours 9am-5pm New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Holiday differential will not affect overtime calculations for the pay period. Additional holidays may be added based on current budget.
Full time employees will accrue paid time off at a rate equal to 120 vacation hours annually. Accumulated hours may be carried over at year-end up to a policy limit. Accumulated time up to a maximum 120 hours will be paid at termination. Termination for cause will result in a forfeiture of all accumulated vacation hours. Sick Leave - Sick leave will accrue at rate of 2.8 hours each bi-weekly pay period. This equates to 3 days per year. Sick leave may be used for personal or an immediate family member’s (spouse, child, or parent) illnesses, medical appointments, and like purposes provided the employee’s presence is required. Hours may be carried over at year-end up to a policy limit. Termination of employment results in forfeiture of accumulated sick leave hours unless due to a work-related injury. Pine Ridge currently pays the employee’s basic health insurance policy and a portion of family or dependent coverage. Coverage benefits and costs are negotiated with our provider each year and may change. Full details of current costs and coverage are included in a separate document.
